Parks Planning

CTA Parks Team

The Parks Planning team is in charge of building new parks and trails within Tualatin, as well as any major renovations of existing parks. They are responsible for overseeing the design and construction of new park projects, as well as planning out the future of Tualatin’s park system.

This division is staffed by one Parks Planning Manager and one Project Manager.

Parks Maintenance

The Parks Maintenance team is responsible for the city’s 300 acres of land in parks, greenways, natural areas, and public spaces and landscaping around public buildings, core area parking lots, and in right-of-ways. Of the 300 acres, approximately 284 acres are developed, with one community park, three neighborhood parks, two natural parks, one man-made lake with an interplay fountain, and the ArtWalk.

The Parks Maintenance Division also maintains grounds around public buildings, developed greenways, wetlands, and undeveloped natural areas and vegetation management of 62 water quality facilities.

This division of Operations is staffed by one Park Maintenance Manager, four Parks Maintenance Technician I, two Parks Maintenance Technician II, two nine-month Temporary positions, and four summer Temporary Positions.

Recreation

The Recreation team is in charge of everything that makes our parks fun, from summer camps and concerts to special events. Recreation staff plan and execute all the events that make Tualatin special: Share the Love, Blender Dash, Pumpkin Regatta, and more!

Our Adult Programming staff also run the Juanita Pohl Center, a space for adults of all ages to connect and enjoy a wide array of programming options. Drop-in pool sessions, overnight trips, educational lunches, fitness classes – the Juanita Pohl Center offers something for everyone!

This division is staffed by one Recreation Manager, one Recreation Specialist, one Juanita Pohl Center Supervisor, one Adult Program Specialist, and fifteen temporary Recreation Leaders.
